The University of Illinois Springfield’s master’s degree in public health (MPH) has received accreditation from the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). This is the first time in the 32-year history of the program that it has received national accreditation.

The University of Illinois Springfield has announced 15 new faculty appointments. Three faculty members will teach in the College of Business and Management; three in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; one in the College of Health, Science and Technology; and seven in the College of Public Affairs and Education.

Two University of Illinois Springfield undergraduate students are working with Associate Professor of Environmental Studies Tih-Fen Ting to research factors affecting the winter survival of American kestrels, a type of bird that is experiencing population declines in North America.
