A total of 1,030 students earned degrees from the University of Illinois Springfield at the conclusion of the spring semester on May 15, 2021, pending completion of university requirements.

The University of Illinois Springfield held 50th Commencement activities May 13-15, 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, graduates were given a chance to participate in an optional in-person “stage experience" on the stage of Sangamon Auditorium May 13 & 14. In addition, UIS released a virtual commencement celebration video honoring the Class of 2021 on Saturday, May 15 on the UIS website and Facebook page.

The University of Illinois Springfield is announcing an innovative approach to 2021 Commencement featuring an optional in-person “stage experience” for graduates as well as a virtual celebration due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 

The University of Illinois Springfield will hold two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at the Bank of Springfield (BOS) Center, Ninth and Adams Streets in downtown Springfield. Of the 1,274 UIS students eligible to graduate, 744 will participate in the ceremonies.

More than 970 students earned degrees from the University of Illinois Springfield during Summer Semester 2019, Fall Semester of 2019 and Spring Semester 2020.

Commencement ceremonies were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
