Norris L Brookens Library supports teaching, learning and community at the University of Illinois Springfield. Dedicated in 1976, Brookens was the first permanent building on campus. It is known for its unique design that creates a space containing no 90 degree angles.
Brookens Library allows use of its display case, lower level lounge and other special use areas for University sponsored displays, events and activities that do not disrupt the normal use of the Library. The display case is located on the Main level of the library. Brookens Library adheres to the University of Illinois Springfield's Access and Equal Opportunity policy in making determinations concerning the use of display and special use areas. Brookens Library strives to provide the students, staff, and faculty of UIS as well as the surrounding community with the resources and services necessary to achieve life-long learning. Brookens Library is committed to providing all members of the university community with equitable access to library resources and services. The library provides a range of services for individuals with disabilities who may require assistance in order to access and use our resources.
Group study rooms seating up to 4 people are available on all levels of Brookens library and are available on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are not available.
The computers in Brookens Library are provided for the use of all students, faculty, staff, and community members. All activities must adhere to the UIS Guidelines for Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources.
Student, faculty, and staff should use their NetID and password to login to the computers.
