Student Leadership Center (SLC)

The Student Leadership Center is more than a home base for Registered Student Organizations—it's a vibrant space for all UIS students. Whether you want to study, hang out with friends, play games, or prepare for your next event, the SLC offers resources and spaces designed to support your experience and success.

Fall 2025 & Spring 2026 Hours

The Student Leadership Center hours are:

  • Monday-Friday 9am-9pm (Wednesday's we close at 8pm)
  • Saturday & Sunday Noon-9pm

Spring Break Hours (March 7th - March 14)*

  • Saturday & Sunday: SLC Closed
  • Monday-Friday: 9am-5pm

*SLC will reopen for regular hours on March 15th 2026

SLC Conference Room

Great for meetings or quiet study.

Seats up to 12 people.

  • Priority is given to student organizations and departments when they reserve the space.
  • When not reserved, the room is open for individual or group study. Students are able to visit the SLC front desk to check availability.

HOW TO RESERVE

  • For Registered Student Organizations: Please submit a request in UISConnection to reserve the Conference Room and/or general Multipurpose Area
  • For Departments: If you have a page on UISConnection, please reserve the space through that platform. If your department does not have a page, feel free to submit a request using the Student Union department reservation form.

Work Room

Ideal for RSO event prep, marketing, and project creation.

The SLC Work Room provides free supplies for Registered Student Organizations to use for events and promotions. Supplies are limited—please check in at the Front Desk for assistance.

  • Banner Paper
  • Markers, crayons, Color Pencils
  • Sidewalk Chalk
  • Craft Paper
  • Scissors, craft scissors, etc.
  • Button Maker
  • Cri-Cut Machine
  • And much more!

Game Room

Perfect for study breaks, social time, and group gatherings.

Students may check out equipment from the SLC Front Desk for use in the Student Union Game Room or Sports Grill, including:

  • Video games and controllers
  • Billiards sets
  • Ping Pong paddles and balls

Board games are also available for study breaks at the Union.

Outdoor Lawn Games
(Bags, Spikeball, Badminton, and more)

  • Must be reserved 48 hours in advance
  • Check-out at the SLC Front Desk

All Users are required to complete an Equipment Usage Agreement prior to checking out equipment.
