Web and Digital Strategy Updates

Website Redesign and Accessibility Update

We are actively working on a comprehensive redesign of the University of Illinois Springfield website, with an anticipated launch in Fall 2026. This redesign represents a major investment in improving the usability, accessibility and overall experience of the UIS web presence for students, faculty, staff, and the broader community.

To effectively balance these two major initiatives—the website redesign and DOJ accessibility compliance—the Web Team will be pausing all theme updates until the new site design is launched in Fall 2026.

Read more about these initiatives.

New Campus Dynamic Map

Web and Digital Strategy, in collaboration with Marketing and Brand Strategy and other departments across campus, created a dynamic, web-based map for campus amenities, including parking, accessible entrances, water bottle refill stations and more. The 3D view of campus also provides walking and driving directions via Google.

This map will consolidate many standalone static PDF maps that once lived on the website, improving user experience and digital accessibility. Find the map at maps.uis.edu or linked in the UIS Mobile App.

If you have edits or recommendations for the map, submit info via the website feedback form.

Campus Services Transition Update

A number of changes to Campus Services were completed as the office was phased out in December. Although the unit closed, many services remain available through new processes and vendors. To help clarify what changed, here are a few highlights:

  • Graphic design: University graphic design services are available through the Office of Marketing and Brand Strategy on a case-by-case basis at no cost. Please note updated timelines.
  • Branded swag and apparel: Swag and apparel can be purchased directly from licensed vendors.
  • University stationery: A centralized process for ordering stationery, including business cards, is nearly complete, which will simplify requests. Stay tuned for more information.
  • Printing: Printing is no longer available on campus. Units should select their own external printing vendors.

If you need vendor recommendations or have other questions, please contact marketing@uis.edu, or visit our resources on the UIS Brand page.

What is the FAFSA?

"At UIS, aid from the FAFSA is how many students get support to afford college. According to our Office of Financial Aid, about 80% of UIS undergraduates receive aid through scholarships, grants, loans or student jobs. That means filling out FAFSA could help you financially, even if you think your family earns 'too much.'”

Alumni Feature: Lucas Harris

"...Lucas’s interest in UIS stemmed from recruitment to play soccer. But when he saw UIS was part of the University of Illinois system, he was confident in the quality of education. After visiting campus, he realized he liked the small class sizes and how approachable professors were."
