The UIS Visual Arts Gallery is pleased to present "In the Shadow," an installation of ceramic works by Decatur-based artist Jennifer Holt. The exhibition will open on Monday, March 6, and run through Thursday, April 13. A reception will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at the gallery.

The UIS Visual Arts Gallery is reopening for the Spring semester with a brand new exhibition by Chicago based artist Frances Lee. 'A tax on a bag and other landscapes' will open January 17th and run through February 16th, 2023.

The UIS Visual Arts Gallery presents its first exhibition of the semester: 'A tax on a bag and other landscapes.' A reception will be held the evening of Thursday, February 2. The show runs from Tuesday, January 2 through Thursday, February 16.

The UIS Visual Arts Gallery presents Turkish artist Hale Ekenci in solo exhibition and lecture series.

Visit the UIS Visual Arts Gallery for our newest exhibition, "POLY-WAVE: Seeds of Color and Shape." An opening reception will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 5:30 PM - 8 PM; hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served throughout the evening. The exhibition will be on view from Thursday, September 22 through Thursday, October 20, 2022.

Join the Visual Arts Gallery between August 11, 2022 through September 18, 2022 for an exhibition featuring artwork by local artists from Illinois. Artwork for this exhibition will be spread between the VA Gallery, the Springfield Art Association M.G. Nelson Family Gallery, and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. An art crawl between the three locations will be happening during the opening reception on August 11, 2022 starting at 4:30 PM at the ALP Library, then 5:00 PM at the SAA, and ending with the VA Gallery at 5:30 PM.

The UIS Visual Arts Gallery presents “OVER/LOOK,” a mixed media exhibition of works by graduating seniors from the UIS Visual Arts Department. “OVER/LOOK” will open on Monday, April 25 and run through Thursday, May 12. A reception will be held in the UIS  Visual Arts Gallery from 5 :30-8 p.m. Thursday, April 28. This event is free and open to the public.
