Leaders from the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) and Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) signed an agreement today enhancing their partnership to ensure a smooth transition for LLCC students to complete bachelor’s degrees at UIS. The agreement also allows UIS students to utilize reverse transfer credits to complete associate degrees.
The purpose of this program is to increase the recruitment of Mexican and Mexican-American students within the University of Illinois System while building a large-scale presence with Mexican academic, research, and private sector institutions.

The University of Illinois Springfield is working to support students at both Lincoln College, who recently announced it was closing its doors at the end of this semester, and Lincoln Christian University, who announced it is drastically downsizing offered programs.

Administrators with the University of Illinois system paid a visit to Southern Illinois this week.
They said they want to be more involved in Southern Illinois — and that they would like for the region to be more involved with the system’s campuses, programs, outreach and economic development efforts.
Working toward that goal, a group of U of I leaders spent Monday in the region as part of a statewide tour, meeting with legislators, business leaders and representatives of Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

UIS to hold Graduate School Week Sept. 27-Oct. 1
The University of Illinois Springfield will hold a virtual Graduate School Week Sept. 27-Oct. 1, 2021. The week will give students who are thinking about earning a master’s degree a chance to learn more about UIS’ 54 graduate degrees.
