Transfer Information and Requirements
An applicant who holds one of the following degrees from an Illinois regionally accredited college or university is admissible as a junior and is considered to have met the UIS general education requirements:
International Applicant Requirements
All applicants to UIS are required to submit official transcripts from all of the institutions they have attended. Applicants who attended a high school, university, or college outside of the United States must have their credentials evaluated as part of their application. Many applicants will also have to provide documentation of English proficiency.

UIS and LLCC enhance transfer admission agreement
Leaders from the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) and Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) signed an agreement today enhancing their partnership to ensure a smooth transition for LLCC students to complete bachelor’s degrees at UIS. The agreement also allows UIS students to utilize reverse transfer credits to complete associate degrees.
The purpose of this program is to increase the recruitment of Mexican and Mexican-American students within the University of Illinois System while building a large-scale presence with Mexican academic, research, and private sector institutions.

UIS is working to support students at Lincoln College and Lincoln Christian University
The University of Illinois Springfield is working to support students at both Lincoln College, who recently announced it was closing its doors at the end of this semester, and Lincoln Christian University, who announced it is drastically downsizing offered programs.
University of Illinois Springfield has enjoyed a long history of helping transfer students find pathways to degree completion. These pathways have led many students across central Illinois and beyond to meet career goals, improve quality of life, and increase educational attainment. Setting a New Year’s resolution to consider a degree completion opportunity is a great way to usher in 2022.
