Welcome to the University of Illinois Springfield! We are honored you have chosen UIS for your graduate studies. Our orientation options are designed to help you transition into your academic program, meet new people, and get familiar with campus resources.
Orientation is a required experience for all first-year students. It’s your first step in becoming a Prairie Star—and it includes everything you need to embark on this new journey!

Our programs are designed to help you feel confident, connected, and ready for life at UIS—whether you're a first-year student, transfer, international, or graduate student.

New and returning students applying for financial aid will receive their financial aid offer notifications electronically via myUIconnect. You will be notified that your offer is ready to be viewed via an e-mail notification. Furthermore, you should be checking your official UIS email account regularly, at least once a week, for updates on your financial aid status and other important financial aid notifications or billing notices.
