The University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery is pleased to present “Gemstones,” a group exhibition that features an accomplished roster of local, regional and national artists that have also served as donors to the gallery. The exhibition will open with a free public reception from 5:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, and will run through Thursday, July 27.

WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield and the Springfield Art Association present “Krzysztof Wodiczko: The Art of Un-War,” a film screening and Q&A with Krzysztof Wodiczko and award-winning filmmaker and artist Maria Niro. The film documentary chronicles the life and political work of Wodiczko, an internationally acclaimed artist. This event is free and open to the public.

The University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery is pleased to present “In the Shadow,” an installation of ceramic works by Decatur-based artist Jennifer Holt. The exhibition will open on Monday, March 6, and run through Thursday, April 13. A reception will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at the gallery.

The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) Theatre Program invitees the public to attend Student Directed Scenes, an interesting variety pack of scenes from contemporary American plays.
Student Directed Scenes offers two opportunities to view students’ final projects in the course Directing for the Theatre (THE 476).
Student Directed Scenes will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 and Friday, Dec. 2 in the Studio Theatre, located on the lower level of the Public Affairs Center building at UIS. Admission is free.
