Personal Property on Campus

Personal property, including books, brought to campus premises should be identified. The campus/University cannot assume responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property. Safeguard belongings in offices, classrooms, and laboratories by not leaving them unattended.

Policy on Policies

This policy on policies governs the oversight and development of all formal UIS campus-wide policies. Individuals and units on campus must follow the procedures outlined in this policy to obtain approval of new campus-wide policies and revisions or updates to existing campus-wide policies.

Naming Campus Facilities and Programs – Policy and Procedures

To ensure that the naming of University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) facilities and/or programs involves careful deliberation and attention to the appropriateness of the name, and that funding requirements are clearly communicated and met in advance of any naming decision.

This policy and associated procedures supersede any and all other campus policies, procedures, and guidelines related to the naming of facilities and programs at UIS. This policy is not intended to alter existing naming commitments throughout the campus.

Inclement Weather Policy

The UIS campus does not close due to inclement weather except under the most extraordinary conditions.

A decision to cancel classes due to inclement weather is made separately from the consideration to close the campus. So, it is possible that classes would be canceled but the campus would remain open for other business.

When classes are canceled, the normal expectation is that all offices and other services of the university will have regular operating hours.

It is also generally assumed that if classes on campus are canceled, online classes would not be interrupted.
