Attention all Graduating Students Who Plan To Participate in Commencement 2026!

Our student commencement speaker is an important tradition at UIS. All graduating students are eligible to audition. Representatives of the faculty will select the speaker. The chosen speaker’s speech will be pre-recorded and broadcast to graduates and attendees during both commencement ceremonies. If you wish to apply, please complete the following steps:

Commencement Ceremonies

Two commencement ceremonies (divided by college) will be held in downtown Springfield at the Bank of Springfield Center: 

Students planning to participate in commencement must complete the following steps.

Step #1 – Confirm Participation:

This is the FINAL opportunity for students graduating in Spring 2026 or Summer 2026 who have not already taken the steps outlined below to do so by the posted deadlines. 

Students graduating in Spring 2026 or Summer 2026 must submit an online Graduation Application via myUIconnect (“Student Self-Service- Home-Graduation” link) by the deadlines listed below:
