Human Services, MA with Nursing Home Administration Concentration

Gerontology Graduate Certificate

It encompasses a range of topics including the psychological, biological and social aspects of aging, as well as issues related to death, dying and bereavement. This concentration is part of the Human Services Program and aims to prepare students for careers in aging-related fields by providing them with critical perspectives and practical skills.

Community Planning Graduate Certificate

The Community Planning Certificate is ideal for practitioners seeking advanced careers in municipal or county management. This certificate offers training in economic development, housing policy, transportation analysis, environmental planning and urban design.

Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Graduate Certificate

Alcohol and drug abuse is a growing epidemic that requires licensed specialists in the field. After completing the certificate, students will have the knowledge and ability to apply the ethical standards of the profession.

This certificate is for individuals who wish to become certified in substance abuse counseling without completing a formal degree program. On completing the required 20 semester hours of courses, students may take the Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor exam through the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association.
