The Illinois Springfield softball program will host its 8th Annual Trivia Night Fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 15, at Sacred Heart-Griffin's West Campus Multi-Purpose Gym (1601 W. Washington St., Springfield).

Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with trivia beginning at 6:30 p.m. Teams of up to ten players can reserve a table for $150, with prizes awarded to the top two teams. The evening will also include raffle prizes and mini games, and guests are welcome to bring their own food and drinks.

The UIS volleyball team fell to Truman State in four sets on Saturday at TRAC, 25-11, 17-25, 17-25, 23-25. The match marked the Prairie Stars' final home game and senior day, honoring Erica Sledge, Bella Hodges, Lexie Vick, and Alexis Schwartz.

UIS came out strong in the opening set, taking control early and never looking back. After a 5-1 start that included a kill from Kendall Johnson and back-to-back aces by Madison Siefken, the Prairie Stars rolled to a 25-11 win behind balanced attacks from Johnson, Makenna Cox, and Vick.

he University of Illinois Springfield men's cross country team finished 10th out of 29 scoring teams at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional in Kenosha, Wis., on Saturday. The Prairie Stars showcased depth and teamwork on a challenging Parkside course, tackling the season's first 10K race.

The Illinois Springfield women's cross country team tied its best-ever regional finish on Saturday, placing 13th out of 27 scoring teams at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional in Kenosha, Wis. The Prairie Stars ran one of their strongest collective races of the season, finishing in a tight pack of GLVC programs in the middle of the field — just behind Maryville and ahead of Drury and Truman State.

The race is set for 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course. UIS ran this course once during the regular season, but will tackle the longer 10-kilometer distance in the regional championship.
