As part of UIS Athletics' 15 Years of NCAA Division II Membership celebration, the department is highlighting 15 standout teams and 15 standout student-athletes who have shaped the program's Division II era. Each week, UIS features one team and one player, honoring the accomplishments, championship moments, and legacy-building performances that have defined Prairie Stars Athletics.
UIS men's basketball, the top-ranked team in the GLVC Point Rating System (PRS) at 4.00, travels to Rolla, Mo., to face Missouri S&T in a matchup originally scheduled for late January before winter weather forced a postponement. The Prairie Stars and the Miners will tip off at 7:30 p.m.

The Prairie Stars head to Rolla, Mo., to take on the Missouri S&T Miners in a game originally scheduled for Jan. 24, postponed due to heavy snow and freezing temperatures in the Midwest.
Illinois Springfield (9-13, 6-8 GLVC)
Rosie Bartletti was named GLVC Pitcher of the Week after a dominant four-game stretch Feb. 6-7. The right-hander went 2-1 while posting a 0.00 earned run average across 14.1 innings, striking out 22 batters and allowing just seven hits and four walks. Bartletti won both of her starts.

5:30 p.m. – Women's Basketball at Missouri S&T
The Illinois Springfield softball team competed in the Chattanooga Invitational on Saturday, facing Cedarville and Shorter. The Prairie Stars opened the day with a 4-0 victory over Cedarville before falling 5-4 to Shorter in the afternoon to close out a 2-2 weekend at the tournament.

The Illinois Springfield baseball team (3-0) secured a narrow 7-6 victory over Savannah St. (1-1) on Saturday, capitalizing on a three-run ninth inning to clinch the win. Both teams recorded nine hits, but Ill.-Springfield's late surge proved decisive. This victory completed the series sweep, marking a 3-0 start to the season for the Prairie Stars.
Illinois Springfield men's basketball (15-7, 11-3 GLVC) fell to McKendree (18-4, 11-3 GLVC) 77-69 on Saturday night at the Harry M. Statham Sports Center. Despite matching McKendree with 42 points in the second half, Ill. Springfield could not overcome the eight-point deficit from the first half.
Illinois Springfield women's basketball (9-13, 6-8 GLVC) fell to McKendree (12-8, 9-5 GLVC), 83-70, despite forcing 20 turnovers and recording 11 steals. McKendree capitalized on its advantage in the paint, scoring 54 points and securing a 37-19 rebounding edge.
The UIS men's tennis team earned a 4-3 road victory at Thomas More on Friday evening. The Prairie Stars missed the doubles point but rallied in singles to capture the overall match.
Thomas More claimed the doubles point, winning No. 1 7-6 (Pablo Herrera/Lin En Tan) and No. 3 6-4 (Antonio Streubel/Lukas Pieringer). UIS' Luke Pennington and Miran Todorovic earned a 7-5 win in the No. 2 spot.
