The Illinois Springfield women's tennis team returns home Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. to face Michigan Tech in the Prairie Stars' official home opener at Springfield Racquet and Fitness Club. The match is the first of seven combined home dates for the UIS men's and women's programs this season, giving fans multiple opportunities to support the Prairie Stars.

Hosted annually by Grand Valley State, the two-day meet attracts more than 1,000 athletes and features every NCAA indoor event. Illinois Springfield men's basketball fell to No. 24 Missouri S&T, 87-66, at Gibson Arena on Tuesday night. UIS (15-8, 11-4 GLVC) was unable to overcome Missouri S&T's 16 three-pointers.
