Roof Work on Founders and Lincoln Residence Halls
Repair and replacement efforts are on the horizon for the residence hall roofs. The contractor will be on site starting Monday, August 25. Work will begin on Founders Hall then proceed to Lincoln. Weather permitting, both roofs are expected to be completed in November.
Please use caution if you need to travel near the residence hall. Construction zones and equipment placement areas will be marked to assist with navigation and ensure safety.
On Monday, August 25, a crane will be positioned on the west side of Founders, just off Eliza Farnham Drive. The red rectangle on the included image indicates the approximate location for the crane. Please note that the bus stop on that corner will remain open and accessible.
UHB 4th Floor VAV Cabling Project
Cabling work for the VAV (Variable Air Volume) infrastructure on the 4th floor of UHB will begin on Wednesday, July 30, and is expected to continue for approximately 2-3 weeks. During this period, technicians will be working to install and configure the necessary cabling for the system. Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions, but be aware that there may be work materials in the hallways and some areas may experience temporary fluctuations in room temperature.

Library Commons Construction

August 21 Update: A drill rig is on site to drill holes for the caissons, which serve as the foundation for the structure. The holes will reach many feet below the surface (anywhere from about 20 to 30 feet), and the caissons will be filled with steel cages and concrete. Ironworkers fabricated the cages on site, and their work and the stockpile can be seen in the western corners of the construction site.
July 24 Update: The lot has been cleared and crews are preparing the topsoil for digging next week. We expect the hole will be dug the week of July 28. Watch the Live Stream to see what is happening in real time!
