Dear UIS Community,

For the upcoming 2026-27 academic year, employee parking rates will increase by $2.50 per month for Economy, Standard and PERKS hangtags.

This adjustment is necessary due to the increased costs to operate and maintain the structure and safety of our lots. Parking Operations is a self-sustaining entity that does not receive any funding from tuition or the State of Illinois. The revenue to maintain and enhance our parking facilities is generated solely through parking hangtag purchases, event parking fees, visitor parking fees and parking violations.

Employees currently using payroll deduction will automatically have their parking hangtags renewed Aug. 4, and the updated fee will be reflected in Aug. 16 paychecks. There is no need to renew a parking hangtag from Parking Operations’ website.

Employees not enrolled in payroll deduction must purchase a new parking hangtag online at uis.edu/parking. Parking Operations does not accept payments over the phone or on site. Once employee parking hangtags have been automatically renewed or purchased online, they will be available for pick up at the Parking Operations office or at one of the hangtag distribution events.

Student rates for Residential and Economy hangtags will not change.

As part of a pilot program for the 2026-27 academic year, Parking Operations is offering a 9-month Economy parking hangtag option beginning Aug. 4. The pilot program will be evaluated throughout the academic year to determine future availability.
