The University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery is pleased to present “Gemstones,” a group exhibition that features an accomplished roster of local, regional and national artists that have also served as donors to the gallery. The exhibition will open with a free public reception from 5:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, and will run through Thursday, July 27.

The University of Illinois Springfield presented awards for alumni achievement, service and humanitarianism during the annual UIS Alumni Gala in the UIS Student Union on Feb. 24, 2023.
WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield will hold three Lunch & Learn Series events this spring. The series is presented by the UIS Alumni SAGE Society and the Illinois State Historical Society.

The University of Illinois Springfield honored three alumni for their achievement, service and humanitarianism during the annual UIS Alumni Gala at the UIS Student Union and live streamed via Zoom webinar on Feb. 25, 2022.
On commencement day, it’s typical to want to get photographs to mark the occasion.
But not many people get a photo of themselves with the university’s chancellors and president of the University of Illinois System.
That’s was Christopher Holley’s experience though when he attended the 2020 Commencement Ceremony held Sept. 18 on the UIS campus.
The UIS Alumni Association has had the privilege of honoring exceptional graduating students for their volunteer contributions as leaders of student societies, groups and organizations at UIS. The UIS Campus Advisory Board (CAAB) sponsors this recognition program and would appreciate your assistance in identifying deserving individuals on campus.
Established in 1957, this award has been bestowed upon alumni of the University of Illinois who have made significant, notable and meritorious contributions, and who have consistently demonstrated exceptional loyalty, commitment, dedication and service to the University for the advancement of their alma mater.
