Caryl Towsley Moy, PhD, Endowed Fund for Collaborative Research

The Caryl Towsley Moy, Ph.D., Endowed Fund for Collaborative Research was established by the family of Dr. Moy to honor the life and work of the former University of Illinois Springfield professor who also taught at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Its purpose is to provide funding for collaborative, team-based research initiatives undertaken jointly by faculty from the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS) and the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIU-SOM).

Overview

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is the one-stop-shop for members of the UIS community to support research, scholarship, creative activities and internal and external grant proposals. We strive to provide excellent support services to faculty, staff, and students engaged in research, as well as to protect the university by complying with external sponsoring agency guidelines at the federal, state, and university levels.

University of Illinois Springfield published its biennial citizen survey on Tuesday. Similar to its 2019 findings, there was an even split among the 726 survey respondents on whether Sangamon County is headed in the right direction.

Human Research Protection Policy

This policy governs the Human Research Protection program at UIS. The Human Research Protection program includes the operations of the UIS Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects of Research.

To protect the rights and welfare of human subjects in research, to establish Institutional Review Board (IRB) oversight of research involving human subjects, and to comply with the Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects and applicable federal laws and regulations
