Applying for Graduation/Indicating Intent to Graduate

Students planning to earn a degree must indicate their intent to graduate to the Office of Records and Registration. Students must submit an online graduation application whether they plan to participate in commencement or not.  It is important to complete this process by the posted deadline.  A mandatory graduation application fee will be charged to each student upon submission of the graduation application.

Degree Verification

Once all degree requirements have been met and degrees have been awarded, official transcripts issued by the University of Illinois Springfield will reflect degree completion. See the Requesting a Transcript page for details and order forms.  Please note that degree verification letters will not be provided.

A request to change your legal name must be made in person at the appropriate office. 

In compliance with Section 438 of the General Education Provisions Act (as amended) entitled “Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act” (FERPA), the following constitutes the campus’s policy which instructs students in the procedures available to provide appropriate access to personal records, while protecting their confidentiality.

Requesting an Official Transcript

The Office of Records and Registration at the University of Illinois Springfield will issue official transcripts of a student’s academic record at the University upon request of the student (note: telephone and email requests are not honored). Transcripts can only be released directly to the student or to a person or entity designated by the student (please note that a photo ID is required when picking up a transcript in person).
