Trick or Treat for Canned Goods is a fun canned goods donation drive. Students, Faculty, and Staff form teams and the week before Halloween each team canvasses a neighborhood armed with fliers, door hangers, and T-shirts identifying themselves and the project. On Saturday, October 31, the teams return to their neighborhood to collect canned good rather than candy. All the food is brought back to a weigh-in party where volunteers gather to see how much they collected, learn from community members, and find out who collected the most food. All items go to fight food insecurity on campus.

To help honor our veterans, volunteers will work in teams to attach yellow ribbons on the trees around the campus.  This event is outside and requires walking.  Be sure to dress for the weather. 

Enjoy a weekend of service, adventure, and friendship during our Fall Community Service & Outdoor Adventure Trip! Students will volunteer with local nonprofit organizations on meaningful projects while exploring the beauty of the outdoors through activities like hiking, campfires, and team-building. It's a great opportunity to give back, meet new people, and develop leadership skills. No volunteer experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to serve. Transportation, lodging, meals, and activities are included.

On-site voter registration is available at this location. If you intend to register to vote, bring a driver's license or state ID and at least one additional form of identification. Students living on campus may request a verification of address from the Residence Life office in HCOMM

Join us for United Way Day of Action, a community-wide event where volunteers come together to make a real difference. On this special day, individuals, families, businesses, and organizations unite to serve local nonprofits and community partners through hands-on volunteer projects. From preparing supplies and organizing spaces to helping with outdoor projects and community outreach, every act of service helps strengthen our community.

Join fellow students in making a positive impact through an on-campus kindness project! Participants will complete a hands-on service activity benefiting a local nonprofit organization. Possible projects include creating enrichment toys for shelter dogs or assisting with a project for the Triple Heart Foundation. Final project details will be announced closer to the event, but every participant will have the opportunity to give back to the community in a meaningful way.

Make Family Weekend even more meaningful by serving together! Join students, families, and friends as we prepare peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in the Springfield community.
