GLVC softball conference play begins this week, with Illinois Springfield visiting Truman State in Kirksville, Mo., on Friday before hosting Quincy at the UIS Softball Complex on Sunday.

The Illinois Springfield baseball team begins Great Lakes Valley Conference action this weekend, hosting Lewis for a four-game series at the UIS Baseball Field. The series opens at 1:00 p.m. on Friday with a nine-inning game, followed by a Saturday doubleheader featuring two seven-inning games at noon. The final game, a nine-inning matchup, is set for Sunday at noon.
UIS men's basketball senior Max Kunnert has been named to the All-GLVC Second Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Isaiah Esker was recognized as the GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship honoree for UIS.

UIS junior distance runner Madelyn Miller has officially qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, set to take place March 13-15 at the Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Miller is one of 19 athletes competing in the women's 5,000-meter run, marking her first-ever appearance at a national championship.
The UIS men's golf team completed two rounds at the Las Vegas Desert Classic on Monday after Sunday's opening round was postponed due to high winds, recording scores of 302 and 311 for a total of 37 over par. The Prairie Stars will compete in the final round Tuesday at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
UIS softball's Malia Bender has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Player of the Week following standout performances in a doubleheader against Findlay and the Springfield Invite from Feb. 28 to March 2.
