UIS Basketball is Back at TRAC
The balls are bouncing in The Recreation and Athletics Center (TRAC) as the Prairie Stars have tipped off another exciting basketball season! You share a campus with a championship-level program — and now is your chance to enjoy the games, the atmosphere, and the perks that come with it. We have home games tomorrow (women at 3 p.m. against St. Francis; men at 5 p.m.
This week features home basketball, a fun community event on campus, and GLVC-opening action in men's and women's basketball. Fans can catch Prairie Stars basketball both at TRAC and on the road.

Tuesday, Nov. 25
3:00 p.m. – Women's Basketball vs. St. Francis (HOME)
Illinois Springfield women's basketball (1-3) fell 73-64 to No. 24 Ferris State (5-1) on Saturday at TRAC, despite forcing 22 turnovers and recording 15 steals.
Illinois Springfield's Madelyn Miller-Ross closed out a remarkable cross country season on Saturday, racing in the NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championship for the first time in her career. The senior placed 84th overall with a time of 21:40 in the 6K.
Miller-Ross capped her senior campaign with another strong showing on the national stage. Her appearance at nationals followed a dominant postseason in which she was crowned the GLVC Women's Cross Country Individual Champion and named the league's Runner of the Year.
UIS men's basketball (3-1) secured a decisive 107-78 victory over Williams Baptist (4-1) on Friday night at TRAC, recording the team's highest regulation-time scoring output since December 2019. In a fast-paced, high-possession game the Prairie Stars knocked down 13 three-pointers and handed out 23 assists to fuel their offensive rhythm.
The UIS women's basketball team returns home to TRAC at 1:00 p.m. Saturday to face nationally-ranked Ferris State, one of the top programs in the Midwest region. The Prairie Stars are coming off an 85-75 road win at Purdue Northwest, in which five players scored in double figures and every player contributed.
Illinois Springfield (1-2)
The GLVC has announced its All-Conference honorees for the 2025 volleyball season, with two Prairie Stars represented on the Second Team. Outside hitter Makenna Cox and setter Erica Sledge both collect the second All-GLVC honors of their careers.
Illinois Springfield senior Madelyn Miller-Ross will toe the line at the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championship on Saturday morning, marking the GLVC champion's first career appearance at the national meet in cross country and the third NCAA championship event of her collegiate career.
The Illinois Springfield men's basketball team returns to TRAC on Friday night for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with Williams Baptist. As always, UIS students, faculty, and staff with a valid Campus Event Pass (QR code) receive free admission. Tickets are also available for purchase in advance through Hometown Ticketing, with cash and card accepted at the gate on gameday.

The UIS Athletics Department is accepting nominations for the 2026 UIS Athletics Hall of Fame Class! The nomination period is open through the end of the calendar year, so don’t miss the chance to recognize former Prairie Stars student-athletes, coaches, teams, and contributors who have made a lasting impact on UIS Athletics.
Inductees will be celebrated during Homecoming Weekend in Fall 2026, with the exact date and time to be announced at a later date.
