Each week, UIS will feature one team and one player, honoring the accomplishments, championship moments, and legacy-building performances that have defined Prairie Stars Athletics.
The UIS women's soccer team, led by head coach Scott Myers and assistant coach Hailey Parungao, welcomed nine high school seniors in the class of 2026 into the program on National Signing Day. Joining the Prairie Stars are Macey Young, Alaina Stock, Raelyn Brammer, Elyse Severson, Aubrey Quigley, Brooklyn Termine, Bridget Lyons, Aubry Thomas and McKenzie Coleman.
Coach Myers shared his perspective on the 2026 signing class, offering insight into each student-athlete and how they fit into the future of the UIS women's soccer program.
Illinois Springfield women's basketball (4-7, 1-3 GLVC) fell at Wisconsin-Parkside (5-5, 0-2 GLIAC), 81-72, after climbing out of a deep first-quarter deficit and repeatedly cutting the margin down the stretch. UIS forced 19 turnovers and scored 16 points off those opportunities but could not fully erase Parkside's control.

UIS enters the Parkside game coming off an 87-76 home victory over Roosevelt on Sunday at TRAC. The Prairie Stars built a commanding early lead with a 25-9 first quarter and carried a 51-31 advantage into halftime.

On Sunday afternoon at TRAC, Illinois Springfield women's basketball (4-6, 1-3 GLVC) defeated Roosevelt (1-6, 0-2 GLIAC), 87-76, taking control after outscoring the Lakers 25-9 in the opening quarter.
Illinois Springfield women's basketball takes a break from GLVC play this Sunday afternoon, hosting Roosevelt for the first time ever. The Lakers, newcomers to NCAA Division II in 2024-25, come from the Midwest's GLIAC conference, giving UIS a fresh in-region opponent to open a three-game non-conference stretch before conference play resumes on Jan. 2.
