The UIS men's basketball team, the current top team in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, returns home this week for a pair of conference matchups at TRAC, highlighted by Springfield Day on Thursday and Family Day presented by the Bank of Springfield on Saturday.

Thursday's action features a 7:30 p.m. men's tip-off against Lincoln, following the women's game, with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. The Prairie Stars then host Missouri–St. Louis on Saturday with a 3:00 p.m. tip-off as part of a full Family Day celebration.

The UIS men's track team posted seven personal records at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic Friday, with strong contributions from transfers and freshmen leading the way.

Senior transfer Will McGonigal ran 8:37.96 in the 3000m, finishing 11th, while freshman Charlie Borlin, the No. 2 GLVC freshman from the cross country championships in the fall, set a PR of 8:41.40 in the same event, placing 13th. Junior transfer Owen Whelan also notched a PR in the 3000m at 8:44.58, giving UIS three top-16 finishes in the distance.

The basketball doubleheader between UIS and Missouri S&T, originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24 at Missouri S&T, has been postponed due to expected inclement weather.

The doubleheader has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 10, with the women's game tipping off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m. at Missouri S&T.

The decision was made to ensure the safety of participants, officials and spectators as winter weather warnings are in effect for the area.
