"I'm really happy with the strides we've made as a team this preseason. We played tough competition this weekend and were able to see some athletes step up to the challenge!" shared Head Coach Laura Ulrich. "We fought through some injuries and won a 5 set match to end the weekend which always feels good. Looking forward to starting conference this next weekend!" 

UIS Men's Soccer lost 2-1 to St. Cloud State on Saturday at Husky Stadium. The Prairie Stars scored once in the first half but were held scoreless after halftime and finished with seven total shots. Illinois Springfield drops to 0-4-1 and turns its attention to a conference game against Truman State on Wednesday.

UIS Volleyball opened play at Missouri Western's Griffon Invitational on Friday, playing two of its three tournament matches in St. Joseph, Mo. The Prairie Stars faced Central Missouri in the afternoon before taking on No. 10 Missouri Western later in the evening. UIS fell in both matches and now holds a 2-7 overall record, with one match remaining on Saturday.

Illinois Springfield fell to Central Missouri 3-0, with set scores of 17-25, 14-25, and 13-25.
