The UIS Athletics Department is accepting nominations for the 2026 UIS Athletics Hall of Fame Class! The nomination period is open through the end of the calendar year, so don’t miss the chance to recognize former Prairie Stars student-athletes, coaches, teams, and contributors who have made a lasting impact on UIS Athletics.

Inductees will be celebrated during Homecoming Weekend in Fall 2026, with the exact date and time to be announced at a later date.

Illinois Springfield men's basketball defeated Judson 92-69 on Tuesday night at TRAC, leading by as many as 32 points and knocking down 16 three-pointers while forcing 21 turnovers.

"Our team was excited to play in front of our home fans," head coach Matt Brock said. "I thought our defensive pressure picked up when the second unit came in. I am pleased with the defensive effort today—there's still room for growth."

Illinois Springfield women's basketball picked up its first win of the season on Tuesday night, defeating Purdue Northwest 85-75 behind a dominant third quarter. The Prairie Stars outscored the Pride 25-16 in the frame and turned 17 Purdue Northwest turnovers into 27 points in the full game.

The UIS women's basketball team opened the season with encouraging moments from a newcomer-heavy squad and now heads to Purdue Northwest in Hammond, Ind., for a 5:00 p.m. matchup on Tuesday. The game concludes a three-game road swing before UIS returns to TRAC on Saturday for the home opener against Ferris State.
