The Illinois Springfield softball program has officially announced its 2026 spring schedule, featuring early-season games in Springfield at Scheels Sports Park and a full slate of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play at the UIS Softball Complex.

The Illinois Springfield men's basketball team returns to action Wednesday evening in Owensboro, Kentucky, with a non-conference matchup against Kentucky Wesleyan. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m. CT and opens a three-game stretch of December non-conference play for the Prairie Stars.

UIS enters the contest riding a four-game winning streak to open Great Lakes Valley Conference play. Key league victories include an 86-76 road win at Missouri-St. Louis and a 63-58 home victory over McKendree.

As part of UIS Athletics' 15 Years of NCAA Division II Membership celebration, the department is highlighting 15 standout teams and 15 standout student-athletes who have shaped the program's Division II era.
