I wanted to let you know that UIS has announced the addition of women’s flag football to the athletics portfolio as our 18th Prairie Star sport this afternoon.
The Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars men's and women's track & field teams are set for another exciting indoor season. Senior Madelyn Miller-Ross will represent the women's team at this week's GVSU Holiday Open in Allendale, Mich., to kick off the season. The majority of the roster will make their indoor debut at Grand Valley State's Bob Eubanks Open in January.
Illinois Springfield men's basketball (5-2, 2-0 GLVC) edged William Jewell (2-4, 0-1 GLVC) 61-60 in a closely contested GLVC matchup at TRAC on Monday night. UIS overcame a four-point halftime deficit to secure the victory, with a strong second-half performance in the paint. UIS stayed competitive down the stretch and pulled out the win in the final moments.
Illinois Springfield women's basketball (3-4, 1-1 GLVC) picked up its first conference win of the 2025-26 season with a 75-49 victory over William Jewell (0-5, 0-1 GLVC), converting 25 steals into 44 points off turnovers.
