UIS women's tennis graduate student Cristina Mendoza Romero has been named All-GLVC for the first time in her career, closing out her two-year run with the Prairie Stars with conference recognition.
Mendoza Romero competed primarily at No. 2 singles and frequently teamed with Jane Carter at No. 3 doubles, providing stability in the middle of the UIS lineup throughout the season. She finished the year 10-9 in both singles and doubles play.
UIS men's tennis senior Pablo Herrera has been named All-GLVC for the third consecutive season, capping off an outstanding career at the top of the Prairie Stars lineup.
Herrera, who competed in the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles, went 3-1 in GLVC singles play and 3-1 in conference doubles action during his senior season. He finished the year with a 14-4 overall singles record and a 9-8 mark in doubles, consistently delivering in the toughest spots of the lineup.
