Take Your Child to Work Day

Registration is still open for Take Your Child to Work Day on April 23, 2026! We have a full afternoon planned that includes a dorm tour, exercise science activity, E-sports, and more. We welcome up to 20 kids, aged 10-15 years old (7-9 years old with a parent present), to come and join us as we explore UIS. Please use this link to register your child(ren) today! Student Employment Electronic Checklist Launch

Our April session will be the Student Employment Electronic Checklist Launch on April 28, 2026, from 9:00-11:00am in the Student Union Ballroom. Laptops are encouraged but not required for this interactive training.

UIS Access and Equity: What We Do and How We Support

The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce the next installment of the Employee Development Series titled Access & Equity Office: What We Do and How We Support. This session will be held in the Student Union Ballroom on May 26, 2026 from 9:00-10:00am. This one-hour presentation by Jeff Moulton will include an overview of the role of AEO, non-discrimination issues, and reasonable accommodations. Registration is not required for this event.

Reminders

Annual Evaluations

The Annual Evaluation process for Civil Service and Academic Professional employees has begun! Evaluations are based on a review period from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Evaluations are a great time to review job responsibilities, give feedback to employees on their performance, and to set goals for the upcoming year. Supervisors should utilize the Annual Evaluation electronic form to fill out and submit to HR by June 5, 2026. More information on the annual evaluation process can be found on the Human Resources website.

Student Employee Annual Evaluation

As the performance evaluation season starts, please remember that student employees value constructive feedback. While evaluations are not required, they are considered a best practice and help support student growth and development. The evaluation form can be found in the Student Employment Supervisor Resources Box folder. If you do not have access to this folder, please email studentemployment@uis.edu to be added.

Floating Holidays

This is a reminder for eligible employees to use their floating holidays by June 30, 2026. Floating holidays must be used in full-day increments. The scheduling of floating holidays is subject to unit approval. Floating holidays cannot be carried over from one fiscal year to the next. For questions on floating holiday eligibility, please contact uishr@uis.edu.
