On February 13th at halftime of the men's basketball game, any student-athlete (regardless of sport) who has earned a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher will be introduced. The seniors who will be introduced have been asked to select the UIS faculty or staff member who has been most influential during the student's time here. That person will be introduced along with the student. If you are asked – congratulations! Please accept only one invitation if you get asked by multiple seniors.

Deon Thomas, the University of Illinois' all-time men's basketball scoring leader, will serve as the speaker at the 2022 UIS Basketball Tip-Off event. The annual fundraiser is an opportunity for fans to take a look inside the UIS basketball programs. The cost of attendance is $100. The event will include a Q&A with coaches and players, a catered meal, and interaction with the team. Attendees will also receive a UIS Basketball giveaway item while supplies last. The proceeds from the event directly benefit the UIS men's and women's basketball programs.
