We will be hosting a conversation around the history of transgender identities in the media, as well as media created by transgender individuals. Join us for Shades from 3–5 pm!
Shades is a discussion-based event series open to all UIS students, faculty, and staff. Our goal is to create a safe, affirming space to explore identity while bringing together QTPOC (Queer & Trans* People of Color) students and allies on campus.
This week’s Shades, Power to the Students, is a Trans Visibility week event! We will focus on student rights and campus policies. Together, students, faculty, and staff will engage in open dialogue about how to use your voice, understand your rights, and navigate campus systems.
Come be part of a magical evening as we honor one of the most cherished traditions in Latino culture. Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority, Inc., alongside the rest of the La Familia organizations, are proud to host our 5th annual Quinceañera! A night dedicated to making a special young woman’s dream come true.
Joins us on April 8, 2026, from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. in the Gender and Sexuality Student Services Lounge (SLB 22) to learn about asexuality and the many ways to have a relationship! We will be doing crafts, eating snacks, and having great conversation.
This event is open to all UIS students.
