The UIS baseball team begins its season this weekend against Tusculum in Greeneville, Tenn., with an adjusted schedule. The four-game series will now be played as two doubleheaders, with games set for Friday at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. CT (1 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET) and Saturday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. CT (12 p.m. and 3 p.m. ET).
The Prairie Stars welcome a pair of GLVC opponents to TRAC this week. First, they face McKendree on Thursday night, with a special National Girls & Women in Sports Day celebration. Then, on Saturday, UIS takes on Maryville at 1 p.m. as part of its Black History Month recognition.

Madelyn Miller of UIS Women's Indoor Track & Field has been named the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month for January 2025, following a record-breaking performance in the 3,000 meter run.
Miller began the season on January 18 with a new personal best of 10:08.52 and then improved by twenty seconds just a week later, setting a new UIS indoor 3,000m school record with a time of 9:48.45 at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic on January 24.
The UIS men's tennis team hosted the No. 8-ranked Washburn Ichabods on Saturday, suffering a 7-0 defeat in their regular season opener.
UIS fell to Lincoln on the road on Saturday, dropping to 10-11 overall and 5-8 in GLVC play. Lincoln improves to 14-6 and 6-6 in the GLVC.
The UIS women's tennis team opened its season on Saturday, falling 6-1 to the No. 11-ranked Washburn Ichabods.
