The Illinois Springfield women's golf team sits sixth through Sunday's play at the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic, with some players still having up to two holes remaining in the second round.
UIS currently sits at 623, 34 strokes behind Bradley, which leads the field at 589. Illinois State is second at 592, followed by Idaho State at 600, Oakland at 601 and Lindenwood at 620. The Prairie Stars are currently sixth, ahead of Eastern Illinois, Prairie View A&M and Evansville.

The Prairie Stars answered a 15-6 first-set deficit with an 8-0 run, getting two Kendall Johnson kills, a Johnson service ace and an Alyssa Gray kill to pull within 15-14. William Jewell pushed back after that surge, but UIS stayed within reach and later cut the margin to 23-21. William Jewell scored the final two points to take the set 25-21.
The UIS men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with William Jewell on Friday. The Prairie Stars withstood six William Jewell attacking actions from 65:22 to 76:43 without conceding after the score was 1-1.
UIS created the early pressure in the first half, earning corner kicks at 6:13 and 8:59 before Leul Mehari and Cameron Frye put shots on frame that Aidan Smith saved. Kevin Kardel answered with two saves as William Jewell pushed back, and the half ended scoreless.

UIS Women's Soccer defeated William Jewell 2-1 on Friday evening in Liberty, Mo. The Prairie Stars finished with a 28-3 advantage in shots and put 14 shots on goal, while William Jewell made 12 saves.

Illinois Springfield junior Brooks Cluver has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletic Solutions Men's Golf Player of the Week, the league office announced Thursday.
Cluver, a transfer, earns his first career GLVC Player of the Week honor after tying for fourth at the Midwest Collegiate on Sept. 28-29 at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Indiana. His performance helped the Prairie Stars tie for fifth among 18 teams with a three-round score of 875 (296-284-295).
