A new report finds that more than 96 percent of 2019-20 University of Illinois Springfield bachelor’s graduates are employed or continuing their education.

The UIS Career Outcomes Report is based on a year of post-graduation data collected and compiled by the UIS Career Development Center and the Office of Institutional Research. The team was able to determine outcomes using email survey data, LinkedIn profile information and National Student Clearinghouse records.

The report finds that 44.4 percent of 2019-20 bachelor’s graduates are working full-time, 4.5 percent are working part-time and 47.4 percent are continuing their education. Less than 3 percent are unemployed or seeking employment. The Center was able to determine outcomes for 61.1 percent of the total undergraduate class.

Among 2019-20 master’s degree graduates, the report finds more than 93 percent are employed or continuing their education. A total of 80.1 percent of graduates are working full-time, 1.4 percent are working part-time and 11.3 percent are continuing their education. Less than 7 percent of master’s graduates are unemployed or seeking employment. The Center was able to determine outcomes for 53.4 percent of the total graduating master’s degree class.

The report finds that UIS graduates are working for Amazon, Ameren, AT&T, Caterpillar, Circuit Court of Lake County, Horace Mann, OSF Healthcare, SIU School of Medicine, Social Security Administration, Springfield School District 186 and State Farm, along with other companies.

Graduating students receive emails from the Career Development Center through GradLeaders’ Outcome Survey platform starting in the weeks immediately preceding their graduating date asking for the survey to be completed. Graduates can update their survey response for up to a year after graduation, and graduates will receive periodic reminders about the opportunity to update their survey response.

Results of the full survey can be found on the Career Development Center’s website at uis.edu/career/. For more information, contact Kathyy Battee-Freeman, director of the UIS Career Development Center at 217-206-6508 or kathyy@uis.edu.
