We are pleased to share that Canvas is now back online and available for use. Faculty and students may log in to Canvas to resume course work and complete outstanding tasks.
As we move forward, it is important to remain vigilant following this incident:
Be cautious with Two‑Factor Authentication (2FA/Duo) requests. Do not approve any Duo push that you did not personally initiate. If you receive a 2FA/Duo prompt you did not request, deny the request immediately and contact ITS Client Services at techsupport@uis.edu.
Security incidents often lead to increased phishing attempts—use caution before clicking links or opening attachments. Learn how to identify and report phishing.
If you notice anything unusual in Canvas, please reach out to ITS Client Services at techsupport@uis.edu.
Faculty: You may resume instructional activities in Canvas. As a reminder, the final grading deadline has been extended to noon on Friday, May 15. This extension is being provided to allow additional time for students to submit coursework and for faculty to complete grade entry following the service disruption. If you have any questions or need assistance with the final grading process, please contact the Office of Records and Registration at 217-206-6174 or registrar@uis.edu.
Students: Please watch for communication from your instructors regarding adjusted due dates, exams, or assignment submissions.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and continued attention to security as we restore normal operations. We appreciate the care our campus community is taking to help keep our systems—and each other—safe.
