Matthew Scrivano, records and registration officer, has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for March 2026

Scrivano’s knowledge allows him to support student workers and his colleagues. He is always willing to aid others when needed and takes pride in his work.

“He is very helpful and always takes the time to answer questions. He listens to concerns,” said his nominator.

His energy brightens up the office, and he is known for his kindness and attentiveness at work.

Scrivano’s supervisor, Lea Smith, noted that his positivity extends past his office duties.

“Matthew is always willing to step in and help others, whether that means troubleshooting a printer or computer issue, assisting at campus events, or volunteering for committee work,” Smith said.

His thoughtful actions create a fun environment at work.

“Matthew is known for bringing in baked treats and sharing jokes for a laugh,” Smith added.

Scrivano is an active member of multiple campus and community activities. He volunteers at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site and has helped at the Sangamon Auditorium. On campus, he is part of several committees: RISE Committee, Civil Service Advisory Committee (CSAC) and the Faculty and Staff Campaign Committee. He is also a regular attendee at UIS athletic events, showing his support and school spirit!
