Emerson Krasnican chose the University of Illinois Springfield due to its size and the student organizations on campus. On campus, they are a student worker for UIS Gender & Sexuality Student Services (GSSS), a GSSS peer mentor, a member of the InQUEERy Program, a qSAP ambassador and a member of the Capital Scholars Honors Program. Asked what they like most about UIS, Krasnican said “I love the relationships you can make with faculty and the wildlife on campus!” Following graduation from UIS, they plan to earn a master’s degree in social work.
