The Spring 2027 Event Proposal Deadline is November 1, 2026, 11:59 p.m.
The ECCE Speaker Series is accepting proposals for the Spring 2027 semester to host five live events.
Virtual/Zoom events will not be considered.
Available Funding for Spring 2027 Events:
- Event / presenter funding up to $1,000 per event (Note: This amount is limited to $600 per event for University of Illinois employees and retirees).
- Funding up to $1,000 per event for transportation and lodging.
Instructions:
- Read the Speaker Series Event Proposal Instructions and Guidelines (Box) form before completing the proposal form.
- Complete all sections of ECCE Speaker Series Spring 2027 Event Proposal Form (Box). Contact Fumika Brudnak, Speaker Series Coordinator, with questions at 217.206.8167 or fbrud1@uis.edu
- Submit this completed form by the proposal deadline date of Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. by emailing it to Fumika Brudnak, fbrud1@uis.edu .
The proposal review process takes about two weeks. Proposals are reviewed by the University Requirements Council (URC).
Proposals will be evaluated by the URC on two factors:
- Clear relevance to two of the ECCE learning outcomes (listed in the instruction form). Do not address more than two learning outcomes.
- A strong engagement component to bridge the information presented in the event to the two selected ECCE learning outcomes.
UIS faculty, staff, students and UIS Registered Student Organizations, as well local community members and organizations are encouraged to submit proposals for ECCE Speaker Series events. Student and external proposals must be submitted by a faculty or staff sponsor. See additional instructions in the Speaker Series Proposal Instructions & Guidelines Form. Speaker Series will not accept proposals submitted directly by students or proposals from individuals or groups external to UIS.
