Dear UIS Community Members:
Maintaining a safe campus is an important responsibility the entire UIS community takes seriously.
In compliance with federal regulations and the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, the 2026 UIS Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (pdf) is now available.
In the coming weeks, a hard copy will be available for review at the following locations:
- UIS Police Department, 2285 Eliza Farnham Drive
- UIS Innovate Springfield, 1 Horace Mann Plaza
- UIS Peoria at Illinois Central College, East Peoria Campus, 1 College Drive, Room 303B, East Peoria, Illinois
The Daily Crime Log is also available upon request at the front counter of the UIS Police Department and the Illinois Central College Police Department for their respective locations.
The report includes crime statistics and residence hall fire statistics for the previous three years (2023-25), as well as institutional policies and procedures related to campus security and crime prevention. Statistics for 2026 will appear in next year's report.
In addition to reviewing the report, you can take other steps to enhance campus safety:
- Read about campus safety measures.
- Review safety information for students living on campus.
- Sign up for UIS-Alert emergency text messages.
- Review Title IX and sexual misconduct resources available to the campus community.
- Review the university's active shooter response plan.
I encourage you to use this information to stay informed and aware of your surroundings. Together, we can continue to make the campus community a safe place where education, research and public service can flourish.
