The UIS women's track & field team had an impressive showing at the GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championships, held Saturday and Sunday.
Meet Highlights
- Madelyn Miller led the charge, earning All-GLVC honors with a second-place finish in the 5,000 meters, clocking in at 17:19.44. Kaleigh Inniss also contributed, securing a 7th-place finish in a personal best time of 17:46.08.
- The women's distance medley relay team finished 7th with a time of 12:51.65, adding two points to the team total.
- On Sunday, Marissa Roggensack opened the day with a 10th-place finish in the mile (5:17.95).
- Kaleigh Inniss bounced back for an incredible 3rd-place finish in the 3,000 meters, running 10:05.89 to claim the first track & field medal of her career and earn All-GLVC honors. Freshman Josslyn Gaona also competed, finishing 14th in 10:38.54.

UIS finished 9th out of 12 teams with a total of 18 points. Camille Terre was the team's honoree for the GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award.

Madelyn Miller ranks 16th in the nation in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:37.46 and is hoping for a spot in the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held March 13-15 in Indianapolis. The championship field will be announced on March 4 at 5:00 p.m. CT via press release on NCAA.com.
