UIS women's tennis graduate student Cristina Mendoza Romero has been named All-GLVC for the first time in her career, closing out her two-year run with the Prairie Stars with conference recognition.

Mendoza Romero competed primarily at No. 2 singles and frequently teamed with Jane Carter at No. 3 doubles, providing stability in the middle of the UIS lineup throughout the season. She finished the year 10-9 in both singles and doubles play.

In GLVC competition, Mendoza Romero went 1-3 in singles and 3-1 in doubles, helping contribute key results in conference matches.

After two seasons with UIS, Mendoza Romero closes her collegiate career with her first all-conference honor, capping off her time with the Prairie Stars.

Niamh Grogan will represent UIS as its GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship honoree. Each GLVC member institution selects one nominee per sport, with conference-wide award winners determined following the season.
