Please join us for our summer garden worknights in the UIS community garden!
No experience is necessary and all tools will be provided.
Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Bring a water bottle. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended.
There are no bathrooms on-site; plan accordingly.
If you want to harvest vegetables, please bring a plastic bag or basket to carry home produce. We should have loads of tomatoes and peppers starting in mid-July.
We will be in the garden on Thursdays from 4-6PM and Sundays from 4-6PM from July1 -August 23. We work rain or shine, but will cancel if there is a severe weather warning (e.g., heat advisory or heavy rain/thunderstorm).
The UIS Community Garden is located here:

Park in the parking lot at the Shepherd House (5255 Shepherd Rd Springfield, IL 62703) or between the trees on the grass island in the middle of the gravel drive and walk back to the garden (walk past the house toward campus and the soccer fields).
Questions? Contact our student garden coordinator, Rowan Fricker (gfric@uis.edu).
