Visits and Events

Visit UIS

UIS has a variety of options that allow you to explore our campus and get to know our community virtually or in-person.

Prospective freshmen, transfer, graduate, international and online students can get questions answered, get an overview of the university and admission process, meet one-on-one virtually with an admission counselor, engage with other UIS staff/faculty and learn what UIS alumni do.

Campus Visits

UIS is hosting campus visits Monday-Saturday this fall, beginning Tuesday, September 8 through December 16. Nine visitors are allowed per campus visit event. Visitors are able to register 2 guests to attend with them. A campus visit includes a 30-minute presentation followed by a campus tour. Walking tours of campus will last approximately one hour, conducted mostly outdoors. Please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather. To protect our students, faculty, and staff, most buildings will be closed to tours, including residential spaces.

Sign up for an in-person campus visit here! If you’d prefer to visit with Admission virtually, see our Virtual Admission Appointments and Webinars sections.

Please note the following to have a safe campus visit experience:

  • Guests and visitors to the UIS campus are required to wear a face covering over their mouth and nose and to follow appropriate physical distancing protocols.
  • Family members may stay together as a group, but should maintain 6’ distance from another family unit, guest or university member.
  • Guests and visitors will be encouraged to wash/sanitize their hands as they enter and depart destinations on campus.
  • To protect the safety of our students, residential living spaces will not be part of campus tours. However, guests can virtually tour residential living spaces.
  • Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should not visit campus. Please contact us to re-schedule your appointment.
