Building service worker in Facilities and Services Yoselin Gonzalez has been named the 2025 Employee of the Year at the University of Illinois Springfield. She was honored during a reception on Jan. 29, 2026, in the UIS Student Union.

Before announcing the winner, UIS Chancellor Janet Gooch thanked the eleven Employees of the Month who were nominated for the award.

Gonzalez, who was the May 2025 Employee of the Month, was nominated by campus colleagues for her dedication and commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment at UIS.

“Yoselin provides outstanding customer service, supports and motivates others, stays proactive and consistently goes above and beyond her job requirements, delivering exceptional results,” said Dustin Bringle, her supervisor in facilities and services.

Bringle also praised Gonzalez’s attention to detail and willingness to help others.

“She shows remarkable initiative by proactively seeking out ways to improve processes and efficiency within our department,” he said. “Her attention to detail and commitment to excellence are truly commendable. Yoselin is always willing to lend a helping hand to colleagues and readily shares expertise and knowledge to support the growth and development of others.”

Nominators noted that Gonzalez consistently maintains clean and safe spaces, addresses
maintenance concerns and delivers quality service.

“She identifies and reports maintenance issues, such as leaking faucets, broken toilets and burnt-out lights, making sure the campus is in top condition,” Bringle said. “Yoselin is always punctual, rarely misses work and can be counted on to step up during busy or challenging times.”

Another nominator highlighted Gonzalez’s kindness and positive attitude.

“My teammates and I have talked about the fact that an interaction with Yoselin always
brightens the start of our workday,” the nominator said. “She is such a lovely person—kind,
friendly and she has a wonderful sense of humor that we all appreciate so much. Yoselin is a treasure.”

Gonzalez, who has worked at UIS since October 2022, was commended by her nominators as an invaluable asset to the campus community. They noted her enthusiasm, professionalism and commitment to fostering a positive atmosphere for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
