The University of Illinois Springfield hosted an event honoring Martin Luther King Jr. for students, staff and the community Friday afternoon.

The event was a care kit assembly pop-up to honor Dr. King’s legacy through service. This MLK Day of Service event was held a week after the official holiday in order to allow more students, faculty, staff and community members to participate.
