Due to pending inclement weather, UIS daytime and evening on-ground classes are canceled for Wednesday, February 2. Online/Remote classes are not canceled. Blended classes which are not meeting on campus on Wednesday, February 2, are not canceled. In addition, Liberal Leave Policy for employees is in effect for tomorrow.
A decision about on-ground classes scheduled for Thursday will be made late tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday, February 2).
It is important to note that even when classes are canceled the campus does NOT fully close.
If, for safety reasons, employees feel they need to leave early or are unable to commute to campus, they should use vacation/personal leave as applicable. Employees with questions regarding requesting absence time due to weather conditions should consult with their supervisors.
Food service will be open for all three meal periods tomorrow. Menu selections may be limited due to potential staffing shortages. Hours of operation may also be adjusted but will be posted on their website and twitter tomorrow.
The UIS COVID-19 SHIELD Testing site will be closed on Wednesday, February 2.
If you must go outside, please dress appropriately and limit your time outdoors.
