WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield Department of Campus Recreation will host its annual Health and Safety Fair. This event is free and open to the public, UIS students, faculty, staff and alumni.

WHEN: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023

WHERE: UIS Quad

DETAILS: The event will offer meal prep ideas, a rock-climbing wall, outdoor yard games, prizes and giveaways.

Several off-campus health vendors will be present, including B3 Healthcare, Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping, Fed Kitchen (meal prep), Illinois Secretary of State Organ/Tissue Donor Program, Impact Life, Memorial Health (behavioral health, cancer center, stroke education, volunteer services), Orange Theory Fitness, Paladin Combatives, Prairie Cardiovascular, the Springfield Road Runners Club and Well Beyond Talk Hypnotherapy.

UIS departments and organizations taking part include Brookens Library, the Career Development Center, the Diversity Center and Health Services.

UIS Campus Recreation will offer information on personal training and teqball, a ball sport that is played on a curved table. The UIS Exercise Science Department will also present information on the Exercise is Medicine Program, which encourages physical activity to promote health.

ImpactLife will be holding a blood drive during the fair. Donors can register online at go.uis.edu/BloodDrive.
