Register now to participate in the first annual State of Black Springfield conference, to be held at UIS on April 6, 2024. Initiated by SOA faculty member Dr. Lesa Johnson (Associate Professor, Sociology) and planned in collaboration with many local community organizations, this one-day conference is an opportunity to join in discussions, learn, and listen as Black citizens, leaders, and students speak to their needs regarding education, religion, government, health care, family, and economic growth. Vendor tables provide opportunities to learn about Black organizations and businesses. Participation in the conference is free, but registration is required and seats are limited. We hope to see you there!
