Welcome New HR Employees

Human Resources recently welcomed Allison Kinkelaar to our employment team. Allison kicked off her UIS career at the End of Year Party on May 15th. She will be serving as the Division Liaison to Enrollment and Retention Management. In this role she will provide assistance with all of the Division’s personnel needs including classification and compensation analysis of positions, pre-employment screening, onboarding, exit interviews, leave payouts, and a host of other items too numerous to list! She will also be assisting with student employment processes. Allison has a big job, and HR is excited to have her on our team!

Jason Kosowski also joined the HR team as an Information Technology Technical Associate on May 30th. Jason has prior experience with several private companies providing a multitude of IT support functions including end-user support, systems administration, and training. Human Resources has never had a dedicated IT position, and we are thrilled to have Jason’s expertise to help us provide timely resolution to problems that arise with our HR systems. He will also provide one-on-one systems training for department users in JDXpert, Cornerstone, as well as many other technology related tasks. Jason will take us into new and exciting directions in our quest to provide the best possible service to our campus community!

June 2023 Program

Supervisor Development Series

Human Resources and the Office of Access and Equity (AEO) is pleased to announce the next session in the Supervisor Development Series: AEO Search Manual Updates. The updated Search Manual will be released in mid-June. Individuals will complete this session with a better understanding of the updated manual, including how to conduct a search for new AP staff and faculty in a manner that complies with legal requirements and meets the University’s diversity and equity goals, putting together a comprehensive search plan, establishing a diverse, qualified search committee, and conducting candidate interviews.

Shelby Bedford, Assistant Director for AEO and primary author of the updated Search Manual, will be facilitating the session. We encourage all staff and faculty that will be participating in a search within the next year to attend this important seminar.

This program will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 9-10:30am via Zoom.
